Goniopora Purple Tentacles with Yellow Rim

Dazzling and hypnotic, this Goniopora boasts deep purple tentacles tipped with a vivid yellow rim, creating an electric contrast that shimmers under reef lighting. Often called the “Firework Goni” for its explosion of color and motion, this piece adds dynamic beauty and soft pulsing movement to any reef. Each WYSIWYG frag is roughly ¾–1 inch and fully aquacultured for improved hardiness.

🧼 Goniopora Coral Care Guide
About Goniopora spp.
Also known as Flowerpot Coral, Goniopora is a classic large polyp stony (LPS) coral famous for its daisy-like polyps and flowing motion. Once considered difficult to keep, aquacultured variants like this one are much more forgiving and thrive in stable systems with regular feeding and care.

🌍 Origin
Indo-Pacific reefs, with this vibrant morph selectively grown in controlled aquaculture conditions.

💡 Lighting Requirements
Moderate light works best. This Goniopora will glow under blues and fluorescents but may lose color or retract under excessive PAR.

Low Light: 30–70 PAR
Medium Light: 70–120 PAR
Place mid-to-low in the tank with indirect light.

🌊 Water Flow
Low to moderate, indirect flow is key. The tentacles should sway gently. Too much current may cause polyp retraction and stress.

🍽️ Feeding
Thrives with routine feeding. Target-feed with micron-sized foods like Reef Roids, Coral Frenzy, or phytoplankton 2–3 times per week for extended polyp growth and vibrant color retention.

🌱 Propagation
Goniopora can be fragged with care, though it’s best done by experienced aquarists due to its skeletal base and delicate polyps. This specimen is already aquacultured and pre-healed.

🔄 Acclimation
Drip acclimate for 30–45 minutes. Ensure stable alkalinity, calcium, and magnesium for long-term success.

⚠️ Placement Tip:
Leave ample room between this and aggressive corals. Goniopora doesn’t sting but can be outcompeted. Keep in a peaceful zone with plenty of room to bloom.

🌟 Why It’s Special:
The combination of royal purple tentacles and bright yellow rims makes this Goniopora a centerpiece coral. Rare and captivating—perfect for collectors or aquascapes needing a high-impact splash of motion and color.
